You Think You're A Giant

by Cunning Folk

about

Folklore makes sense of the world. Giants are used to explain how the world was made & why the land lies in particular ways. It's reasonable to think that some giants of lore are echoes of old gods. Maybe all the folklore & myths are true. This song is a giant's eye view of a small world.

lyrics

You don’t know when you think you’re a giant
You believe you can walk through walls
Everything seems so insubstantial
You’re so tall & they’re so small

Walking tall in a world of confusion
Far away where the sky hits the ground
Maybe you’re just happy when you’re a giant

It takes a certain kind of ego
To cut the cords that tie you down
Empty places offer perspective
Little cities & tiny towns

Walking tall in a world of confusion
Far away where the sky hits the ground
Maybe you’re just happy when you’re a giant

High

You don’t when you think you’re a giant
You don’t when you think you’re a giant
You don’t when you think you’re a giant
You don’t know you’re just high
